Rhäzüns & Engelberg, Switzerland 2024

I’m fotunate enough to have been born in Switzerland and being able to call this beautiful country my home, although I haven’t lived there in 25 years. As such you could say I am a tourist in my own country and maybe my pictures will remind you of a tourists’ images, although I’d beg to differ of course.

One trip took me to the Canton Graubünden to a place called Rhäzüns, from where we have a mineral water with the same name. This was a bit of gem as there were no tourists at all, just a few other peace loving Swiss people enjoying a sunny day.

The other is Engelberg, which is the exact opposite in terms of tourists but of course also very beautiful and none the less relaxing.

Vesterålen Sortland, Norway 2024

Having been to Tromsø in Norway in 2014, I have always wanted to go back and see more of this magical and mystical place, especially the northern lights. As a landscape photographer this is pure paradise and a true feast for the eyes but not without it’s challenges. One minute the sun is shining, the next there’s a snow storm, making the light change every few minutes. I’d love to spend more time there in the summer and I’m definitly going to come back to spot some whales.

A place outside Zürich, Switzerland 2023

Who doesn’t love a sunset? Another spectacular sunset on a fullmoon with birds and planes flying into my image. I was born and bread in Switzerland but have since spent more than half my life in London. The big question now is where to re-locate to?

Lanzarote, Spain 2020

Beautiful volcanic landscapes ranging from sandy colour to dark black fertile land mixed with the deep blue colour of the sea creates wonderful contrasts. This solo trip I’d like to repeat especially since I was kicked-off the island due to the spread of Covid 19 across Europe in March 2020. I’d like to see Cesar Manrique’s many art sites and museums that were closed at the time.

Malta & Gozo 2019

Malta has an extraordinary history with pre-historic populations having built monolithic temples to Phonicians, Romans, Arabs and in the end Christians inhabiting the island, it’s truly fascinating. For me it was even stranger to find that everyone spoke English. I kept trying to speak Italien or Spanish as I’m so used to expecting people to speak another language when travelling in Europe.

Mexico 2017

Mexico is one of those places that I feel everyone falls in love with. It just happens you can’t help yourself. Needless to say I extended this trip and explored both the East Coast and West Coast. Here some images from Puerto Escondido and Oaxaca.

California Road Trip 2015 - Route 66

This journey was amazing and I wish I’d had a better camera back then. Here I am en route to Joshua Tree on the only section of road that is still part of route 66, where I fell in love with the desert.
